What is the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Quality Improvement Center (MSHS QIC)?
The National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Quality Improvement Center is an entity that provides culturally and linguistically appropriate training and technical assistance to Migrant and Seasonal Head Start programs nationwide.

Migrant and Seasonal Head Start is a program designed to provide comprehensive Head Start services including child development and social services to low-income families working in agriculture, or families who migrate while working in agriculture. What Are the Funding Sources of MSHS QIC?
The Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Quality Improvement Center is funded under the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) through the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Head Start Bureau located in Washington, DC.

The MSHS QIC is a member of a comprehensive network of Head Start Quality Improvement Centers (HSQIC) responsible for providing training and technical assistance to Head Start programs throughout the nation. Along with the HSQIC's, but funded separately, are the Head Start Disabilities Services Quality Improvement Centers (HSDSQIC), which specialize in providing training and technical assistance to Head Start programs in the area of young children with disabilities. Most HSQIC's correspond to the appropriate regional offices and serve 4-6 states. The MSHS QIC is based in Washington, DC and serves 24 grantees located in 35 states throughout the nation. The funding for the MSHS QIC comes through the Migrant Programs Branch of the Head Start Bureau. The MSHS QIC also has a west coast office in Portland, Oregon and several out stationed staff members to address the needs of a diverse service area. The principle offices of the MSHS QIC are housed within the offices of the Academy for Educational Development (AED) located in Washington, DC. AED is a not for profit agency with various educational and health programs worldwide.
